 CBFS Library

The library contains books for specialized fields and general fields as well. It consists of five sections: the general services section, technical services section, the computer and internet section and the periodical section.

The library maintains an open shelf system which allows the reader to easily access the collection which dealing with specific subjects. It contains a collection of over 12000 books.

Services Rendered By The Library

1. Borrowing service

This section facilitates the internal and external loan services for the library attendants. The external borrowing service is rendered to those who have CBFS ID cards, college students, lecturing staff and the college officials. Borrowing service can be rendered to other similar colleges as a kind of exchanging books between the college library and other college libraries

Borrowing periods and the number of books to be borrowed:

Lecturing staff

10 books for 15 days.

College officials

2 books for 7 days

Higher studies students

5 books for 15 days.

College students

2 books for 7 days.

Outsiders

2 books for 7 days

In case of delay, students will be fined 100 baisa per day. As for lecturing staff and officials the fine will be 300 baisas for each subject.

In case of loss or misuse of the books there will be fines as per the internal regulations.

Lecturing staff may keep aside a number of academic books for a whole semester in order to use with their students. These books would be kept in the library and not to be borrowed. These books could be the library property or could belong to any of the lecturing staff.

2. Reference services

This section performs a number of activities including answering any inquiries from the reader, either in person or by phone (Extension 211). Help could be provided to get to resources of information and reference groups. This section prepares different training workshops for those who use the library to show them how to use it.

3. Computer services

The learning resources centre provides IT services such as the Internet. The librarian in charge could the students in their assignments regarding the use of the computer and the Internet. Training courses in computer and library services could also be provided for the students and the college officials.

The library also provides access to EBSCO which is and electronic journals service. It aggregates access to electronic journals from various publishers. EBSCOhost® databases are the most-used, premium online information resources for tens of thousands of institutions worldwide, representing millions of end-users

The whole library is a WiFi zone and provides wireless internet connectivity to all the users

Library Rules And Regulations

1.  Silence is required in the Library. The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited.
2.  The consumption of food and drink is not permitted in the Library..
3.  No offensive use of internet or chatting of any kind.
4.  Computers are to be logged off after use.
5.  Newspapers should be returned to their shelf after reading.
6.  Bags and suitcases should be left at the librarian desk.
7.  Chairs should be returned to their places when leaving the Library.
8.  Books should be left on the table after reading.
9.  Users are responsible for keeping the Library materials and property in good condition.
10.   Keep the Library clean. Waste bins are there for any litter.
11.   Users are not allowed to use the Librarian's computer.
12.   Closing time of the Library is 8.00 p.m. Users should leave 5 minutes earlier.
13.   It is mandatory for all the users to follow the above mentioned rules and regulations otherwise they will not be allowed to use the library facility in the college.
