Description: |
The Strathclyde Business School is one of less than 1% of schools in the world with all of the internationally recognized accreditations: AMBA (Association of MBAs), AACSB (American), and EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System- European Foundation for Management Development) accreditation. These awards recognize the quality of the Strathclyde MBA.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) course at the University of Strathclyde, run in Oman by the College of Banking and Financial Studies, is ranked at 51 position in the Financial Times London Survey of worldwide top 100 MBAs. Strathclyde University is ranked the 1 st in Scotland, 10th in the UK and 20th in Europe.
The MBA Course And The Partners
The Strathclyde MBA has been available in partnerships outside Britain since 1989: over 1000 are currently studying the programme. This success is due to the unique delivery structure developed with the local partner, incorporating elements of part-time and open learning modes of studies.
The College of Banking and Financial Studies is responsible for promoting the Strathclyde MBA in the Oman, handling enquiries, providing information and processing applications. To maintain high standards of consistency throughout the world, all admissions decisions are made by University of Strathclyde.
The College of Banking and Financial Studies provides administrative services as well as a focal point and centre for holding tutorials, intensive seminars & examinations. Strathclyde School of Business provides teaching materials and teaching sessions with Strathclyde Faculty. All assessment is the responsibility of Strathclyde and successful participants will be awarded a University of Strathclyde MBA.

How Do You Study For The MBA?
Study is at The College of Banking and Financial Studies using a variety of different means to take account of the need for busy managers to spend as little time as possible away from the workplace. USGSB has developed a comprehensive set of study materials, providing you with the means to continue study at your own pace to suit your needs.
Flexibility is foremost and delivery is provided in a variety of ways:
Face to face teaching by Strathclyde staff at the CBFS.
Regular local counseling support at the CBFS.
Home or private study with specially prepared and effective open learning materials (developed by Strathclyde). All course material and text books are provided by USGSB and are included in the cost.
Assignments and examinations are set and marked/validated by Strathclyde University staff.

Duration: |
Two Years:
The Strathclyde mode of study attracts busy executives who combine, demanding responsibilities associated with their career and family, with their MBA studies. Study may be spread over a few years.
It is possible, for those students wishing to accelerate their studies, to join the full-time MBA programme at Strathclyde at the elective stage for 3 weeks during May, June and July each year.
How Is Coursework Assessed?
The course work is assessed by a mixture of written coursework, presentations and examinations. As far as possible coursework will be related to the student's work environment and marked by local counselors, subject to quality assurance by the Strathclyde University. Exams are set and marked by Strathclyde academic staff.
Responsibility for academic quality control for the Strathclyde MBA resides with the University. It is exactly the same standard and content as the full-time course in the UK.
Who Awards The Degree?
Successful international MBA students will be awarded the same Strathclyde MBA as for UK full time students.
Can I Start The Course Here And Finish It Elsewhere?
Yes. You can transfer to be a full-time or open learning student at Strathclyde or you can continue by open learning at another Strathclyde centre (e.g. Abu Dhabi , Dubai, Bahrain, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia, Greece, Hong Kong, Switzerland).
How Is The Course Divided?
Each year is divided into two semesters: Strathclyde staff will provide intensive seminars in Oman, you will study open learning materials and attend locally based counseling sessions (organized by The College of Banking and Financial Studies) for the first four months of the semester with examinations in the fifth or sixth month.
The Strathclyde taught intensive seminars ensure that all MBA students have the same learning experience and reach the same standards. The intensive seminars cover business simulations and managerial skills as well as specific subject development.

As per the rules and regulations of Ministry of higher Education, Omani students applying for Post Graduate programmes are required to obtain approval from Ministry of Higher Education to peruse their higher Studies. Therefore applicants are required to visit us to complete this procedure providing us the following documents:

Description: |
The degree aims at developing the analytical and behavioural skills that students will require to make effective use of knowledge after graduation. The Business and Management Studies degree shares a common first year with Accounting and Finance degree.
