Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)

Description:

It is an internationally recognized qualification awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). It is designed to equip students with all the technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill a supporting role in accountancy. Upon completion, students will have an internationally recognized technician level qualification. It can be used as a first step in a career in accountancy and it prepares school-leavers and mature students for employment in accounting departments of commercial, industrial or public sector organizations or in the offices of practicing accountants.

 

Entry Requirements:

Secondary school leaving qualifications, 70% or above including Mathematics. All applications are considered individually and all equivalent UK and international qualifications are accepted. For applicants for whom English is not their first language, an IELTS score of 5 or equivalent will also be required.

Further Studies:

ACCA's innovative partnership with Oxford Brookes University allows ACCA students to study for a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting, while taking their ACCA examinations. Students will be entitled to the degree (awarded by Oxford Brookes University) on completing the first two parts of the new Professional Scheme of examinations, and then submitting a Research and Analysis Project to the university for assessment. The Project examines graduate skills, focusing particularly on the ability of students to carry out research and analysis. CAT will provide students with a solid foundation to progress on to ACCA, gaining exemptions from all the 3 papers of Knowledge Module within Fundamentals without any exemption fees.

Description:

The ACCA is for all who aspire to become professionals in any sector of business. As a Chartered Certified Accountant you will be qualified to work in any aspect of finance or management in any business.

 

Entry Requirements:

Successful completion of "AS" level 5 subjects plus 3 "A" level subjects including Mathematics or a Bachelor Degree. All applications are considered individually and all equivalent UK and international qualifications are accepted. For applicants for whom English is not their first language, an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent will also be required.
